The solar PV market in Indonesia is currently in high demand. The Indonesian government intends to close many coal power plants and replace them with renewable energy plants.

As Indonesia prioritizes Net Zero Emission (NZE) by 2060, solar energy will play an important role in the supply of electricity, with 587 GW of renewable power plants and a capacity of 361 GW, or more than 80%, coming from solar energy and hydropower. This energy source will eventually become the primary source of national electricity.
